Title: Technical Copywriter | O&G | Houston, Texas

Client: Energy Oil & Gas company

Location: Houston, Texas (Energy Corridor)

Type: Direct-Hire

Salary: $90,000- $100,000 (DOE)

Summary:

• Must be a Houston, Texas based candidate. This is an "onsite" writing position assignment conducting SME interviews for the Marketing Communications division.
• Oil & gas "storyteller" writer and editorial style writing professional with journalism experience within the Oil & Gas industry to facilitate several projects.
• Trusted advisor, people pleaser, team player, collaborator with a knack for building relationships with Engineers to get the story!

Duties:

• Manage SME interviews, coordination and facilitation providing Engineers options for different styles of draft copy.
• Create compelling content such as collateral pieces to include brochures, case histories, success stories, flyers, product overviews.
• Writing exposure in print is a big plus; however, creating digital content for web/online seminar client events, etc.
• Update, and edit company website, product line guides, industry papers, and case studies.

Requirements:

• Must have 5+ years experience writing for the Oil & Gas Energy industry from "Journalistic" and Storyteller perspective.
• Writing portfolio samples is required.
• Oil Gas Experience with O&G Trade Publications geared to Completion, Production, Drilling and Evaluation writing projects.
• Writing experience within the oil & gas or energy industry is required.
• Ability to write from several different perspectives.
• Ability to "roll with the punches" in sometimes unclear situations or conflicting priorities.
• Prefer strong writer (value messaging/positioning savvy) that understands brand, and B2B marketing.
• Need SME internal client interaction/management and project management skills working in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Writing and/or Communications related field.
