Position Summary

The Senior Quality Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This individual develops and implements quality control systems including automated testing, thorough audit performance and inspections, and data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement. Collaborating closely with engineering, product, and other departments, the Senior Quality Engineer works to enhance engineering efficiency while improving quality of releases. This role also involves leading quality improvement projects, providing training and support to engineers, and staying abreast of industry standards and regulations. With a strong background in engineering, quality management, and relevant certifications, this individual brings meticulous attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication to the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Vet, implement, and continuously update automated testing tools that drive efficiencies and quality improvements

• Create automated tests as part of features and rollouts to improve the testing process

• Meticulously analyze software applications to ensure quality, adopt more advanced analytical techniques and tools to improve accuracy

• Review API designs for consistency and conformation to the latest design standards. Contribute to improvements to API documentation and testing procedures of API results

• Test software applications, validate data quality, and ensure accuracy for data warehousing and business intelligence activities

• Verify adherence to quality assurance processes throughout the software lifecycle

• Perform manual verification of changed or new features, while continuously pressing to find ways to streamline or automate the process to enhance efficiency

• Conduct smoke testing to ensure that the most critical functions of the software are working correctly

• Perform end-to-end testing to validate the complete flow of the application from start to finish

• Execute regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities

• Other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Education and Experience

• At least 4 years of experience in a role with responsibility for automated and manual testing, even if testing was not the exclusive focus

• Minimum of 6 years of experience working for a technology-focused company

• Experience in the transportation industry and familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) are a strong plus

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field

• Experience in software development and product or project management

• Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is inside a central heat and air-conditioned office building. The noise level in the work environment is minimal.
