Description Pay rate: Min $12.50 to Max $15.00 Summary: Sanitation Tech keeps areas in the facility clean and sanitized. Also, the Sanitation tech will fill in as necessary to for production employees to keep production on schedule. Sanitation Tech is required to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and assist with any other duties assigned by management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Created and maintains an efficient, hygienic, and positive working environment.
- Understands food safety responsibilities and maintains a focus on them.
- Arrange material, and other industrial equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
- Cleans lint, dust, oil, and grease from machines, overhead pipes, and conveyors.
- Cleans screens and filters.
- Cleans floors.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Dust furniture and equipment.
- Polishes metalwork.
- Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
- Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays.
- Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Replenishes bathroom supplies.
- Replace light bulbs.
- Picks up refuse from plant grounds and maintains area by cutting grass or shoveling snow.
- Operates industrial truck to transport materials within the plant.

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of 6 months experience operating equipment in a manufacturing environment, or one-year experience running complex farm equipment, three years of experience preferred and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be mechanically inclined; having the capability to change decks, screens and sizing reels not limited to any other function needed within the shelling process.
Language Skills Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences
Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Payroll systems.
