Role Description

Revolution Field Strategies is seeking voter registration canvassers to participate in the organization’s high traffic campaign operation. As a canvasser, you will visit high traffic areas as well as community events and register people to vote. If you’re fired up and ready to organize in your community, we urge you to apply!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• There is no formal education requirement for this position

• Must have the physical stamina to stand/walk for long periods (up to 8 hours per day) while meeting and talking to people

• Comfortable with, knowledgeable of, and enthusiastic about discussing topics related to progressive politics, advocacy, and public policy

• Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends

• Ability to memorize and recite scripts and statements prepared and provided by RFS

• Consistently meet daily and weekly conversation goals

• Excellent communication skills including active listening and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work within a team and independently based on employer requirements

• Good time management skills to fulfill goals within a specific period

• Ability to travel to the office at the start of each shift

• Possession of a smart phone with a data plan

PREFERRED:

• High level of comfortability downloading and using apps on a smartphone or tablet

• Previous paid or volunteer canvass or fundraising experience (including door-to-door sales work, Census outreach work, etc.)

• Telemarketing or retail marketing experience

• Social service or organizing experience

COMPENSATION:

This is an hourly position with Revolution Field Strategies, with an hourly rate of $22 per hour.
