The City of Cathedral City is seeking a motivated Junior Engineer to join our Engineering Department. The salary may be negotiable within the range listed, based on the position requirements and successful candidate's qualifications, subject to appropriate authorization.

Position Overview: As a Junior Engineer, you'll support a variety of exciting public works and capital improvement projects. This entry-level position offers excellent training opportunities and a clear path for career growth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and planning public infrastructure projects
- Support regulatory oversight and private development review
- Collect and analyze data for traffic, hydrology, and environmental studies
- Help prepare project documents, including RFQs, RFPs, and cost estimates
- Participate in public works inspections

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Proficiency with computer-aided engineering applications

CANDIDATE SELECTION PROCESS

Examination Phase: Based upon the information presented on the application, a limited number of candidates who possess qualifications most pertinent to the position will be invited to participate in the selection process. The selection process may include but is not limited to the following components: application review and evaluation, written examination or exercise, practice exercise and interview evaluation.

3. Establishment of Eligibility List: Candidates who successfully complete the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list pending further review by the department head and other qualifying procedures.
