Title: IT System Architect (Subcontract at a Core BTS Client)

Through Core BTS Resource Management Services (RMS), we offer custom talent solutions to help our clients meet their evolving technology and business needs. Job Description:

The IT System Architect will develop and implement strategies for computer and network systems. Responsible for designing, configuring, operating, and maintaining networking and computer systems, including hardware, software, web portals, internet and intranet connections, firewalls, servers, and security measures that ensure the seamless operation of the companys infrastructure. The IT System Architect will also be responsible for the comprehensive design and maintenance of the IT system, ensuring its optimal performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop IT system architecture solutions to support business objectives and ensure scalability, security, and performance.
  • Assess existing systems, recommending enhancements or replacements as necessary, and ensure high availability and acceptable performance of mission-critical systems.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for system designs, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to inform architectural decisions.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure adherence to architectural guidelines, review existing system architecture, recommend improvements, and participate in engineering reviews.
  • Conduct system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues, scrutinize change requests, and estimate the level of effort for system updates.
  • Build, patch, test, and deploy complex systems and Enterprise platforms, and perform complex system and application upgrades.
  • Document system upgrade and troubleshooting procedures, design, implement, and maintain disaster recovery and high availability solutions to meet company 7X24X365 needs.
  • Travel to client sites as needed to provide support.
  • Perform other duties as outlined by Information and Technology Management.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with a minimum of 7 years of System Architect experience or 10 years of related experience.
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing computer systems and networks.
  • Strong knowledge of system design methodologies, including cloud architectures and platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of network architecture and security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Familiarity with database design and management (SQL).
  • Knowledge of IT governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Proficiency in DNS, SMTP, IIS, SQL Server, and Active Directory.
  • Proficiency with Windows 2019, Windows 11, and VMware ESX.
  • Experience with High Availability configurations, including SQL Mirroring, SQL Clustering, Always-On Failover Clustering, and Always-On Availability Groups.
  • Proven track record in developing strategic system architecture plans.
  • Solid understanding of information processing fundamentals and best practices.
  • Above-average analytical, conceptual, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in conducting research on technology, trends, standards, and products.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under extreme pressure.
  • Proven experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving system problems.
