Our 164-bed inpatient services for adolescents through senior adulthood offers comprehensive and individual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning. We also offer a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program to ensure the continuum of care for our patients. Old Vineyard is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Health Information Management Assistant

Full-Time

The Health Information Management Assistant assists in the establishment and maintenance of patient health records in compliance with all applicable laws, standards and policies. These systems include forms control, chart audits, record security, release of information, transcription, and filing.

Duties Include:

  • Daily retrieval of discharge medical records from units
  • Assemble discharged patient records within 48-hours of discharge
  • Processes requests for Release of Information, following hospital guidelines and applicable state and federal statutes when doing so
  • Performs filing tasks and other administrative duties in support of Health Information Management department
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.

Education :

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience :

Two (2) years’ secretarial/administrative assistant/HIM experience preferred; one (1) year experience in health care field preferred.

Licensure/Certification :

Skills :

Strong customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged sitting. Must be able to lift twenty-five (25) pounds. Must be able to hear and speak to answer telephones and receive guests and visitors.  Walking outdoors, in all weather, required.
