We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Buyer in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry. The role is based in Rochester, New York, and will involve a hybrid work environment, with the potential for remote work three days a week. As a Buyer, you will be tasked with assisting the purchasing staff in day-to-day operations and special projects, with a strong focus on organizational skills and customer service.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the purchasing department
• Work on special projects as directed by the purchasing staff
• Utilize computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel, for various tasks
• Learn and adapt to new software as needed
• Maintain a high level of organization in a fast-paced environment
• Independently prioritize tasks when faced with multiple competing priorities
• Interface with end users to resolve questions or issues regarding purchase requisitions
• Utilize strong communication skills and phone etiquette when dealing with customers
• Apply basic understanding of supply chain and the role that purchasing has in it
• Maintain a dedicated office type environment, either at home or in a designated area, to work without distraction.• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Proven experience in a purchasing role within the healthcare industry is preferred.
• Proficiency in purchasing activities such as supplier selection, contract negotiation, and inventory management.
• Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with vendors and internal teams.
• Excellent analytical skills to evaluate the best suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
• Knowledge of market trends, tariffs, and import/export regulations within the healthcare sector.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• High ethical standards and professionalism in dealing with confidential information.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Must possess strong problem-solving skills to address purchasing issues effectively.
