Sweet Rain Apparel is looking for Women's Apparel Assistant Designer
The Assistant Designer will focus on young, contemporary womenswear.
The Assistant designer will assist the design team with all aspects of the garment lifecycle from concept to final development & fitting. This position would support the design team by researching relevant trends, maintaining the organization of the design office, and has the ability to communicate with cross functional teams such as Merchandising and Production. Assistant designer will develop and create illustrations and technical drawings/flats for new design concepts.
Assistant designer will also participate in fashion trade shows by creating seasonal collections & looks, while also attending to these locations.
Duties:
* Provide support from concept to design to final development
* Assist with the management of cross-functional communication between buyers, productions, technical design and with vendors.
* Provide organization by handling new garment samples through communications with all teams
* Research concepts, create sketches, prototypes and artwork throughout the concept development phase.
* Assist design team with all aspect of the design process
Skills/Qualification
* Studying or studied, in Fashion, Design with a Bachelors Degree, or related area
* Understanding customer preferences on fashion and style trends
* Strong sketching skills, color sense, and fabric knowledge
* Strong written and verbal communication with presentation skills
* Detail oriented
* Familiar with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Microsoft Word & Excel
